The Friends of Brixton Library and Tate Gardens is an open, active community group that cares massively about central Brixton and what it's like for the many different people who live, work and hang out there.

We're working alongside the council and Brixton Area Forum to implement sensitive solutions to short-term problems in the area, to develop an active, creative process for designing the new development of the square, and we have an ongoing commitment to the library, and its resources and use.

Join us! We are passionately commited to getting over 'consultation fatigue' and finding ways for different points of view to be heard, new ideas to emerge, and flexible alliances to form and solutions that are of real benefit to the community to be implemented.

We don't just talk, we act!

While the Friends group advocates more holistic, managment/activity orientated solutions, we recognise that there isn't enough cash to do these. At least the current works are limited and don't involve any levelling! Read more...
