The Brixton Theatre was bombed in WWII; our music hall, the Empress Brixton, was turned into a cinema in 1957 and later demolished. At last, we are going to see a new theatre opening in Brixton. Brixton House theatre has been built on the corner of Coldharbour Lane and Somerleyton Road. As the final fitting out is taking place, they have announced upcoming job shops: “These job shops are part of our commitment to fill our staff team with people from the local community that our theatre has been built for.” They are being held on Thursdays, 4th & 11th November 2021.
