DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the Local Heroes initiative\, the 17 individually made textile squares of the Local Heroes  banner were made during Covid lockdowns by the Brixton Library craft group. For this event\, hosted by Friends of Tate Library Brixton\, Marilyn Rogers\, Annick Alet\, Rachel Heywood and Cecilia Washburn will present the making and meaning of the banner\, which will then go on to be displayed in local venues. \nThis event is hosted by Friends of Tate Brixton Library. SUMMARY:The Lambeth Local History Fair
DESCRIPTION:Lambeth’s Local History Fair has traditionally been the opening event of the Lambeth Heritage Festival\, and after an absence last year it now makes a welcome return ‘in the flesh’ in the vast and well-ventilated nave of St Mark’s church where dozens of local society stands\, local history experts and bookstalls  will be on hand. Food\, drink and refreshments  will be on sale at the Oval Farmer’s Market outside the church. There is no need to book.
