A Snapshot of Brixton: Harry Jacobs and the Empire Windrush is an exhibition that has been created to mark the 70th anniversary of that famous voyage. It looks at the links between Empire Windrush’s passengers and Brixton and the role of local photographer, Harry Jacobs, in recording Brixton’s Black community. The exhibition is now open at Lambeth Town Hall and is on until 6th July.
There will be free curators’ talks at Lambeth Town Hall, talking about the exhibition on Fri 22nd June at 6.30 and Tues 26th June at 1.15. Tickets are free and can be booked through the Eventbrite page: https://a_snapshot_of_brixton.eventbrite.co.uk
