Shakespeare Road

A developer is coming forward with proposals to redevelop the waste site in Shakespeare Road, known as the Shakespeare Wharf Waste Site. It would change from being a waste processing site to residential housing. Usually, the Brixton Society is against changing the use of sites from employment uses into residential; we need to keep local employment opportunities. This may be an exception. A waste processing site in an otherwise residential area, with all the associated lorry movements, is far from ideal. We look forward to hearing the reaction of local people.
The developer is showing the proposals on this website: shakespearerd.co.uk.
They are also holding a public exhibition at:
Moorlands Community Centre, 58 Corry Drive, Brixton, SW9 8QT, on:
Thursday 5th December, 5pm – 8pm, and
Friday 6th December, 11am – 3pm
